pCloud Save - Browser Extension

pCloud Save is a browser extension that lets you save images, text content, and other files from the web directly to your pCloud account. With just a right-click, you can store content in pCloud without downloading it to your device first.

What is pCloud Save?

pCloud Save is a lightweight browser extension designed for quick and effortless saving of web content. Instead of downloading files locally and uploading them manually, pCloud Save allows you to send supported content straight to your pCloud storage in a single step.

You can download the pCloud Save browser extension from the official pCloud website:

Supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Opera

Note: pCloud Save will not work if two-factor authentication (2FA), including Google Authenticator, is enabled on your pCloud account.

What Can You Save?

The pCloud Save extension can save the following file types:

  • Any file type with a direct downloadable link: If a file is available for direct download from a webpage, pCloud Save can save it
  • Multiple image files simultaneously: The extension supports saving several image files at the same time
  • Text content in different file formats: pCloud Save can also save text content in different file formats

How to Use pCloud Save

To save individual files or images:

  1. Right-click on the content you would like to save
  2. Select Save to pCloud from the context menu
  3. A notification will appear with a link to the file’s location in pCloud

To save multiple images at once:

  1. Hold the Alt key
  2. Click on each image you want to save
  3. A new window will open showing all selected images
  4. Click Save to pCloud to upload them

To save text content:

  1. Highlight the text you want to save
  2. Right-click and select Save to pCloud
  3. Edit the text in the new window if needed
  4. Confirm to save it to your account

Logging In

To use pCloud Save, you need to log in to the extension:

  1. Click on the pCloud Save icon located in your browser
  2. Log in to the pCloud Save extension using your email and password
  3. After logging in, you'll be able to save your files

Extension Icon Colors

The color of the pCloud Save icon shows the current status: 

  • Gray: The extension is inactive. This may be due to:
    • Not being logged in
    • A problem with the internet connection
  • Green: Content is currently uploading
  • Blue: The extension is active and all uploads are complete
  • Red: An error occurred of you've reached your traffic/quota limit. 

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with pCloud Save, please provide the following information to support:

  1. What browser do you use and is it up-to-date?
  2. What operating system is that device running on and what is its version?
  3. Could you provide some screenshots or a short video displaying the issue?
  4. Connection issues could cause problems. Do you use:
    • A Proxy server
    • A VPN
    • Security browser extensions
    • Any software that could interfere with the connection
  5. Are you sure you are actually logged in to the pCloud Save extension?

Best Practices

  • Keep your browser updated
  • Monitor your Remote Upload traffic, especially on a free plan
  • Make sure the extension icon is blue before saving content. 
  • Disable conflicting browser extensions if issues occur.
  • Check your internet connection if uploads are failing
