Managing Your pCloud Account Settings
Your pCloud account settings allow you to personalize your experience and manage important account information. From updating your email address and password to adjusting language preferences and configuring notifications, you have full control over your account configuration.
Changing Your Email Address
You can update the email address associated with your pCloud account at any time. For security reasons, you'll need access to both your old and new email addresses to confirm the changes.
- Open my.pCloud and log in to your account
- Click your Account avatar and open Settings > Account
- Click Change email
- Follow the instructions sent to both your old and new email addresses
Important: You cannot change your email to another address that already has a pCloud account registered. If you have a pCloud Pass account linked to your pCloud account email, updating your pCloud account email will automatically update the email for your pCloud Pass account as well.
Changing Your Password
Regularly updating your password helps keep your account secure. You can change your password from multiple platforms:
From my.pCloud:
- Click your Account avatar and go to Settings > Account
- In the "Change your Password" section, enter your current and new password
- Click "Change Password"
From pCloud for Android/iOS:
- Open the app and go to the Settings
- In the Account section, tap "Change password"
- Enter your current and new password and confirm by selecting "Change Password"
From pCloud Drive:
- Double-click pCloud Drive to open the Preferences menu
- Select the Account tab and click "Change Password"
- Enter your current and new password and confirm by selecting "Save"
Resetting a Forgotten Password
If you've forgotten your password, you can easily reset it:
- On the login screen, click the "Forgot Password" link below the password field
- Enter the email address you use for your pCloud account
- Check your email for a password reset link from pCloud
- Follow the instructions in the email to create a new password
Note: If you're registered with Facebook, Google, or Apple account, the email will be sent to the email address associated with the respective platform. The reset password option is available for your account password, but not for your Crypto Folder password.
Verifying Your Email Address
Verifying your email address is essential to access all pCloud features and avoid account deletion. Here's what you need to know:
- You'll receive a verification email when you register a new account
- Check your spam folder if you don't see the verification email in your inbox
- Click "Verify Now" at the top right corner at my.pCloud.com to resend the verification email
- You can also request a new verification email through any pCloud app
Important: In order to use some features of pCloud, like sharing folders or sending public links, you need to verify your email address. If you're on a Basic plan and you don't verify your email address within 30 days, your pCloud account will be scheduled for automatic deletion.
Changing Language Settings
The language of a pCloud account and of the system emails and notifications can be adjusted from my.pcloud.com > My Profile > Settings > Account. The currently supported languages are:
- English
- French
- German
- Italian
- Dutch
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Bulgarian
- Turkish
- Traditional Chinese
- Japanese
Managing Data Region Settings
Data regions refer to the geographic location where you store your files and data. At the moment, there are two data regions available: the European Union and the United States.
- You can choose a data region when you register for your pCloud account
- Once chosen, all your files and data will be stored in that region
- You can view your current data region from the Account settings in my.pCloud.com
- You can move your account to a different data region from the Account settings (this option is paid)
Note: If you're a member of a Family or Business account, only the owner can request to move the entire family or business to a different data region.
Linking Social Media Accounts
You can link your pCloud account with Facebook, Google, or Apple accounts for easier login:
- Open my.pCloud
- Click your Account avatar and go to Settings > Linked accounts
- From the "Login" section, click "Link" with Facebook/Google/Apple
Checking Your Storage Space
To view your used and free space:
From my.pCloud:
- Open my.pCloud, log into your account and click on your Account avatar
- Hover over the storage bar (right below your email address) to see detailed information
From pCloud for Android/iOS:
- Open the application and go to the Settings
From pCloud Drive:
- Double-click on the app icon, and go to the Account tab
