Use File Requests to collect files from anyone directly to your pCloud account - even from people without pCloud accounts.

Key Benefit: Recipients can upload files without getting access to any of your existing files. Everything will be organized in one place for your convenience.

How to Generate a File Request

From my.pCloud (website):

  1. Open my.pCloud and log in to your account
  2. Choose a folder where you want to receive files
  3. Click on the more options menu (three horizontal dots)
  4. Click Request files
  5. The file request link will be generated automatically
  6. Share the link with people you want to receive files from

From pCloud Drive:

  1. Open pCloud Drive
  2. Right-click on a folder where you want to receive files
  3. Click Request files
  4. The file request link will be generated automatically
  5. Share the link with people you want to receive files from

From Mobile app:

  1. Open the pCloud app on your device
  2. Navigate to the folder you want to share
  3. Click on the three dots next to the folder
  4. Select Request Files
  5. Share the generated link

File Request Settings

Upload limit

  1. Open my.pCloud
  2. Navigate to File Requests in the left menu
  3. Right-click on an existing request and click on Settings
  4. Set a custom upload limit

Expiration date

  1. Open my.pCloud
  2. Navigate to File Requests in the left menu
  3. Right-click on an existing request and click on Settings
  4. Set a custom expiration date

Who Can Upload via File Requests?

File requests are designed for maximum flexibility:

  • No pCloud account needed: Anyone can upload files through a file request link
  • No registration required: Recipients don't need to create an account
  • Simple upload process: Just click the link and upload files

File Requests vs. Shared Links

Understanding the difference:

  • Shared links: For downloads - people can download your files
  • File request links: For uploads - people can upload files to you

Files can only be uploaded to your shared links by pCloud users. If you want to receive files from anyone, even if they don't have a pCloud account, use the File Request option.

How to Stop a File Request

When you no longer want to receive files through a file request:

  1. Open my.pCloud.com and go to the File requests page
  2. Find the folder you're looking for and click on Settings
  3. A pop-up window will appear - click on Delete
  4. The file request for this folder will be stopped

Note: Anyone with access to this file request will no longer be able to use it after deletion.

Use Cases for File Requests

File requests are perfect for:

  • Event photos: Collect photos from wedding or party guests
  • Work projects: Receive documents from clients or contractors
  • School assignments: Teachers collecting homework from students
  • Collaborations: Gather files from multiple contributors
  • Customer submissions: Receive files from customers without exposing your account

Organizing Received Files

All files uploaded through a file request:

  • Go directly to the folder you selected
  • Are organized in one place
  • Can be moved or reorganized later
  • Count toward your storage quota
